Are there days when you feel like you can barely manage you own schedule and to do list, let alone your children's? Do you find yourself cross-referenceing your calendar, the family calendar and the school calendar only to find that something still slipped through the cracks? Fear not, you are not alone. With the proliferation of activities and paper work that surround children, there is a "simply simple" solution: a binder (preferably with a clear insert on the outside front cover) and an electronic calendar.
Create a binder and use dividers to assign each child their own space. You can then subdivide each space to include dividers by category, for example; school, sports, band etc...Use these spaces to store all relevant paperwork that you receive for each category. This can include schedules, rosters and contact lists.
There are many electronic calendars available, such as google calendar, that have features that allow you to create individual, color coded calendars. You can view each calendar separately, and merge all into a master family calendar.
Be sure to print each individual calendar and file it by child and then print the master calendar and place it in the front cover of the binder for quick and easy viewing.
It's practical, and will make your life...simply simple. You can close the book on this chapter!
